Wacaco Nanopresso – our favourite travel accessory

Wacaco Nanopresso – our favourite travel accessory

If you read our blog, you know we are huge coffee lovers. We visited coffee plantations in Colombia to understand more about how it grows and one of our key criteria for a nice hotel is whether it has good espresso for breakfast. Not just that we love coffee but, travelling with a toddler, we need enough caffeine to cope with 6 AM wake-ups or to keep up with his energy bursts.

Unfortunately, when you travel, good coffee can be a problem. In South America and Asia, coffee quality is quite low and espresso is not very popular. Especially when you stay in local guesthouses, you get to drink really bad coffee based beverages. Espresso is pricey, considering it is not top quality, and it is not always available; traveling on a budget can be challenging for a caffeine addict!

So, when we read about Wacaco Nanopresso, we felt like it was designed especially for us. We bought it immediately and it was love at the first shot!

Wacaco Nanopresso is a small portable espresso machine which allows to prepare great coffee shots, of similar quality with the ones we prepare back home. We couldn’t imagine this would be possible with such a tiny device, no other accessories needed. With a patented pumping system, it reaches a maximum stable pressure of 18 bars, just pressing with one hand. It is quite easy to use, no significant force needed for pumping. It even has a detachable cup, designed to protect your hands from the heat. All you need is finely ground coffee and hot water.

Thanks to the awesome accessories, you can go even further. Using only a small adapter, you can replace ground coffee with NS capsules. This means even more convenience and mess free when you are traveling. Using capsules, you’ll get exactly the same espresso every time, as coffee is mechanically ground, measured and tamped with a higher precision.

The standard Nanoprresso is black but, for a more stylish approach, there are also coloured models, or the Tattoo Limited Edition. It comes with a soft bag, but we also got the EVA carrying case, which protects it very well from bumps, scratches or dust while traveling.

You can pour your favourite beverage anywhere, as hot water is easily available. We had a kettle in any hotel room and you can ask for hot water is in bars, restaurants, or even on the airplane. If you travel to remote areas, the Nanovessel, can store hot water for hours and it can be attached directly to the Nanopresso, as a large water tank.

Less than 350 grams and 15.6 cm in length, you can fit Wacaco Nanopresso in any bag. Whether you travel for a long time on a strict luggage, backpack in a wild area or have just a tiny bag for one day at the beach, you don’t have to quite your habits. You can enjoy your favourite beverage anywhere you want.

Wacaco Nanopresso offers great value for the money! Considering how much we were paying for espresso before buying it, I think we saved a lot afterwards, without any compromise to our coffee ritual. Here you can find more about Wacaco products and order them online.
