Siem Reap Resort: Angkor Miracle

Siem Reap Resort: Angkor Miracle

For our trip in Siem Reap, we chose to stay a bit outside the city centre. It is a bustling city, full of tourists and we prefer a more quiet area to relax and rest. A great choice here is Angkor Miracle Resort & Spa, a luxurious resort located 15 minutes away from Siem Reap centre.

Angkor Miracle Resort & Spa impressed us even from the entrance. The welcoming lobby is mix of modern and traditional khmer architecture, with wood and marble accents. From the beginning, all the staff around here try their best to make your stay memorable, very friendly, polite and with great care for the kids. In the center of the lobby, there is a small courtyard with a replica of the famous Bayon Temple. The faces sculpture surrounded by water enhances a very authentic and peaceful feeling. Eric examined it a lot, impressed probably by all the details.

If you arrive early at Angkor Miracle or need to wait for your airport departure, you can spend your time in the Stopover lounge. This is a dedicated area with relaxing chair beds where you can read, watch TV or just meditate about your experience in Cambodia. I think this is a very welcoming idea, a comfortable and private atmosphere to spend the time between locations.

Angkor Miracle Resort & Spa features elegant rooms, with hard wood floors and selected fine furniture, in the same traditional khmer style with modern accents. There are several room types to choose from and connecting rooms are also available, if you travel in a large group. In my opinion, the best one is the Copa Cabana. Located at ground floor, it has direct access to the pool, through a private terrace. The highlight here is the swing lounge, which is a very relaxing spot. Eric loved to play here or to spend time together to read him a story. But it was a great place for us to relax in the evening too, when the heat is over and the kid is asleep. Being surrounded by all the greenery made us forget we are actually in a crazy chaotic city. Just make sure you use some mosquito repellent, as insects are pretty common in this tropical area.

The whole Angkor Miracle Resort has over 300 rooms. Luckily you won’t feel the crowds anywhere, as it is very large, with plenty of space and amenities to spend your time. Our favourite was of course the pool area, ideal to refresh considering the heat in Siem Reap. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the pool is a serene place to restore your energy after visiting the temples. You have plenty of space to swim or you can just relax in the jacuzzi. I liked a lot that it is a salt water pool, healthier for our skin, with less chemicals. It is also a perfect place for kids. There is a large kids pool for the little ones and plenty of green space for them to burn their energy. Eric enjoyed a lot the “expeditions” in the hotel’s garden! Next to the pool there is the Poolside bar, to grab a drink or a snack without leaving the premises.

Apart from the pool, you can also burn some calories in the fitness center or visit the Karma Spa to relax in the sauna, get a spa treatment or a massage.

Kong Kea Restaurant offers an extensive choice for breakfast, both asian and western food choices. Our favourite breakfast spot was on the terrace, overlooking the pool and gardens, a great start of the day for us. If you don’t fancy leaving the hotel premisses, you can also have lunch or dinner at Kong Kea; it has a nicely selected menu of local and international dishes, also available for room service.

If you book online your stay at Angkor Miracle Resort, you’ll also get airport pick-up and drop-off, plus a scheduled shuttle to the city center, so you won’t need to worry too much with local transportation. Angkor Miracle can also arrange various tours and the staff is very knowledgable to indicate the best options for your taste. If you are in Siem Reap with kids and find it difficult to visit the temples with them, Angkor Miracle can provide a babysitter to look after your little ones while you are away.

You can book here you stay at Angkor Miracle Resort & Spa or check other accommodation options in Siem Reap.
