One of the best gifts for your kid

One of the best gifts for your kid

One of the most difficult photos we had to take to Eric was his first passport photo. Taking a photo for a 10 weeks old infant with the head straight, eyes open, no crying and no fussing seems an impossible. Luckily, the guys working at Cluj passport service are professional in every aspects; they have enough experience (and noisy toys) to successfully solve the problem quickly.

Ok, not the passport itself is important here, but everything that comes with it: travel, excitement, life experiences. Nowadays you don’t always need a passport when you travel as an adult, as just the national ID card is enough in plenty of countries, but you always need a passport for the child to go abroad.

Traveling means so much for the baby. He spends all the time with the dear ones, no daycare, no nanny, only the beloved parents. And you are relaxed and ready to play and giggle all day long, with no fixed program or errands to run. Freed from the job and daily routine, you are much more adaptable to the little one’s needs and it is less likely to impose him strict activities and rigid schedules. Of course, I’m not talking about marathon city-breaks when you want to see all the museums and cathedrals in two days! Traveling with kids and babies is about (very) flexible itineraries, about enjoying the moment and seeing the world through their eyes.

Many will argue that travel is pointless with young babies, as they won’t remember it anyway or that the experience is just too tiring for the whole family. I couldn’t disagree more! On that note, your child won’t remember being carried in your arms, breast-fed every three hours, sleeping on your chest or being kissed a trillion times neither, still, there are lots and lots of studies that prove how important each of these are for his wellbeing. Of course he won’t consciously remember crossing Charles Bridge in Prague, wandering through Park Guell in Barcelona or sailing to see the dolphins in Tenerife. But all his senses will be aware of what is going on around him and, after years, his subconscious mind will remember the feelings he had. You probably read a lot about how important it is to expose babies to various stimuli as early as possible, and that’s exactly what travel does! There are even scientific studies to prove the value of travel and family holidays for the child brain development, as well as for the relationship and bonding between parents and children.

why travel with kidsJust think how cool it is for teenager to see pictures of him as an infant in beautiful places he would like to visit again! Not to mention that the best geography lesson is about places we’ve been together. Eric is two years old now and he already knows most of our fridge magnets; it is so charming to hear the pitched young voice explaining “Teneife… in Cannay Islands” or “wind mill from Toieddo, in Spain”

For sure, as parents, you will need a child-free experience sometimes, a short escape-weekend or an adventurous trip to an exotic place, and I encourage you to do so. But please, consider traveling with your little one, no matter how complicated and scary it seems the first time. It might be so enriching that you won’t want to leave him at home again!

[…] Traveling with babies and kids is easier and much more fun than most people would expect. But you need good planning and proper baby travel gear to make things work well. You know how they say, “happy baby=happy parents”, so if the little traveler feels good “on the road”, we all can enjoy our time. […]
